Understanding the Mother-Daughter Relationship
Poetry Therapy Workshop
11 May 2019
“The mother-daughter relationship is an essential, powerful force in every woman’s life. When a woman understands more about her relationship with her mother and her daughter(s), she has the opportunity to develop a stronger sense of herself as an individual and a woman.”– Geri Giebel Chavis.
- Do you want to examine the impact of your mother’s influence and expectations?
- Do you want to explore how this bond has affected you?
- Do you want a stronger sense of self?
If you have answered ‘yes’ to any of the questions, and you want to embark on a journey of self-discovery, this workshop is for you.
Poetry therapy offers a unique opportunity for healing, growth and understanding.
Let’s explore together and develop a stronger sense of yourself. Using poetry, conversation and self-reflective writing, we will learn how to embrace and navigate the powerful mother-daughter dynamic.

It is also beneficial for those who enjoy journaling, writing for personal or professional development, or who are interested in using therapeutic writing with groups.
