Understanding the Mother – Daughter Relationship Poetry Therapy Workshop
Understanding the Mother – Daughter relationship
“The mother-daughter relationship is an essential, powerful force in every woman’s life. When a woman understands more about her relationship with her mother and her daughter(s), she has the opportunity to develop a stronger sense of herself as an individual and a woman.
– Geri Giebel Chavis
Poetry therapy provides a unique opportunity for facilitating healing, growth and understanding. This workshop will be practical and experiential, we will focus on the relationship you have/ had with your mother and not on parenting. Some mothers and daughters have great relationships and have a close bond, whilst others struggle.
Why is the mother- daughter dynamic such a complex one?
Come along to this workshop and utilise poetry and expressive writing as a tool for healing, self discovery and an opportunity to explore the mother- daughter relationship whilst developing a stronger, confident sense of yourself.
This workshop is experiential and open to everyone who enjoys writing, for personal development or for professional development.
No previous experience of poetry or expressive writing is required, just a willingness to share, reflect and experiment with words in a supportive environment.
You especially benefit when you share your writing. Hearing your words validated by others can be a powerful learning experience and can lead to deeper levels of understanding and increased confidence and self esteem. However, you always decide what you wish to share.
CPD certificates provided for those attending the workshop for continuing professional development (CPD) purposes.
