Relationship counselling offers an opportunity to talk about your concerns and help you explore the issues within your relationship which are troubling you. It will give you a platform to be more confident in your relationship and enjoy a more satisfying and fulfilling life.
Benefits of Relationship Counselling
- You can talk candidly about all aspects of your relationship in a safe environment
- You will gain confidence in expressing your needs and wants
- You will discover ways of moving forward
- You will identify patterns and the types of relationships you attract
- You will learn to acknowledge the continuing impact of past experiences, and explore how to become less affected by them
Accepting that there are difficulties, small or large, in your relationship or marriage is often hard to come to terms with. Seeking help shows you are committed and willing to work things out. When people come for counselling, some feel nervous, apprehensive and unsure of what to expect. But actually counselling offers a good opportunity to really look at the dynamics of your relationship. Relationship counselling can help you talk about what’s going on and how you feel. You cannot change your partner, however counselling can help you work through the difficulties with confidence.
Is Relationship Counselling Right for You?
- Are you unhappy in your relationship?
- Have you stopped communicating with your partner?
- Are there issues around affairs and betrayals?
- Have you stopped being intimate with your partner?
- Do you want to solve a particular problem in your relationship?
- Have you stopped having fun?
If you have answered “yes” to any of the above questions and you want to enjoy a more satisfying relationship, I can help you!
If you prefer to work on your relationship with your partner then couples counselling may be a more suitable option.

I am a BACP accredited relationship counsellor and for over 16 years I have been helping individuals and couples who have experienced relationship difficulties.
Relationships come in all “shapes and sizes” and I know from experience that people can go on to enjoy satisfying and fulfilling relationships.
As a British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) registered and accredited counsellor, I adhere to BACP codes of ethics and good practice.
You will always see one counsellor – me. I work in Hackney and Camden on a one-to-one basis with my clients so that they can form a trusting relationship in which to work through and discuss issues.
“Charmaine helped me look at the underlying issues in my relationship and helped me to see some of the negative patterns I had carried into my current relationship.
“I got so much out of my counselling with Charmaine, at first I was anxious about seeing a counsellor, but I really valued the space where I could talk honestly about my problems. Eventually I was able to tell my partner, what I wanted from our relationship. My relationship has improved significantly. I am feeling positive about the future. Thanks for all your help and support.”
